Volume 2: Climate's Bottom Line: Carbon Budgeting and Canada’s 2035 Target
In its second annual report to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, the NZAB recommends developing a national carbon budget, adopting a 2035 emissions target of 50-55% reduction below 2005 levels and tracking Canada’s excess emissions. “Climate’s Bottom Line: Carbon Budgeting and Canada’s 2035 Target” represents Volume 2 of the second annual report, and was pre-published in September 2024. We are pleased to present our second annual report to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, as mandated under the Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act (CNZEAA). The Synthesis Report includes an overview of activities undertaken since our first annual report and our strategic priorities moving forward. Volumes 2 and Volume 2 were pre-published during climate week in September 2024 and respond to requests from the Minister of Environment and Climate Change for advice on how to achieve Canada’s 2030 target and the setting of Canada’s 2035 target.
